Welcome to 1925

Published works from 1925, whose copyrights were renewed after 28 years, are now in the public domain.  Among these are The Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald, Arrowsmith by Sinclair Lewis, and "Always" by Irving Berlin.  The copyrights should have expired 20 years ago, but in 1998 Congress passed, and President Clinton signed, the Copyright Term Extension Act which increased the term of copyright for works published between 1923 and 1976 inclusive to a ridiculous 95 years.
